Tomlinson report recommendations published

14-19 curriculum and qualifications reform, the final report of the working group on 14-19 Reform led by Mike Tomlinson, has been published. The proposals recommend the development of a diploma that would, over time, bring all existing academic and vocational qualifications within a diploma framework.

Under the proposals, young people would study a range of academic and vocational subjects, and would have to satisfy clear national standards in basic skills (written and oral communication, numeracy, and ICT). They would also complete an extended project.

You can download the final report of the 14-19 curriculum and qualifications reform from DCSF's 14-19 Gateway website. You can also find a summary for schools on online publications. Further information is also available on TeacherNet. The 14-19 Gateway provides a web-based single reference point for those engaged in transforming the 14-19 phase of education and training.
