Readiness check

This is a tool to help you consider how ready your organisation may be for Training Quality Standard assessment.

The Readiness Check takes you through a series of statements which you should use to gauge your organisation’s strategy, approaches and results, and ask how ready you would be to prepare an application.

You need to consider how much you can demonstrate your organisation can meet each statement’s requirements. You will also be able to clarify whether your organisation has particular strengths or weaknesses.

Once completed, the Readiness Check will translate your assessment into some recommended next steps for your organisation’s journey of continuous improvement.

The Readiness Check is a starting point, not a substitute for assessment. The more candid you are in assessing your organisation, the more accurate the recommendations will be.

HelpStep 1 of 10: Strategy

To use the tool, work through each page and consider how well your organisation bears up against the key statement. Then, use the scale to give your answer, in terms of how well you can provide evidence to demonstrate you meet the statement’s requirements. Then, the two further ‘Measures’ statements allow you to identify whether some of the critical requirements represent particular strengths and weaknesses around this general picture.

Strategy

Statement:

We have a plan for our work with employers which sets out clear goals and is understood by our people.

Do you set a clear direction for your work with employers? Is the strategy based on a robust analysis of your markets and customers? Are there specific, measurable objectives? Do your people understand how their work contributes to the plan?

We can find evidence that we do this

Measures:

In addition, rate your organisation against the following specific statements:

Our objectives have specific performance measures

Our people understood the strategy and how they contribute
