About this site
Overview
Becta's Schools website offers advice and guidance to school leadership teams on how technology can be built into teaching, learning and management.
The challenge is to ensure that the use of technology within schools raises standards, increases efficiency and gives everyone the chance to learn in the way that best suit them.
Becta has worked with schools and key partners such as the National Strategies, Training and Development Agency (TDA), National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services, Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA), Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) and Ofsted to develop a self-review framework to help schools develop a sustainable vision for technology, and get the most out of their investment.
The website introduces the self-review framework and provides supporting, advice and guidance to schools on how to work through it.
To ensure that schools can buy with confidence, the technology must be reliable, appropriate and cost effective. The schools website also provides advice on best value purchasing of ICT with access to information on suppliers who have reached Becta’s quality standards.
