Research

Robust evidence is vital in informing the development of strategy and policy that will improve outcomes for learners and the system as a whole. We develop and disseminate robust evidence on the impact of ICT on education.

Research community

Becta sees the ICT research community as one of its key partners in the development of a comprehensive and high-quality evidential base on the educational uses of technology.

Becta works to support the ICT research community in a number of ways:

  • The Becta ICT Research Network facilitates the sharing of information and knowledge amongst those interested in ICT in education
  • Becta runs a varied programme of research-focused events – including its annual research conference - to disseminate research findings and provide opportunities for dialogue and debate on key ICT-related issues
  • Becta works in partnership with organisations and individuals carrying out research on ICT in education, to help ensure that the resulting evidence is of a high quality and addresses priority issues for the education system
