Page Summary

The CAA Directorate of Airspace Policy (DAP) provides a focal point for receiving and responding to aviation related noise & environmental issues. This department is known as Aviation Related Environmental Enquiries (AREE).

Main Content

The majority of telephone calls and correspondence received are requesting information or advice on a variety of aviation related subjects enquiries, including aircraft noise complaints, from the general public. Accordingly, a series of Environmental Information Documents have been compiled covering all of the topics that AREE is regularly contacted about. They can be found at the bottom of this page. Please also see our list of FAQs.

If, having reviewed the contents of the Environmental Information Documents and FAQs, you require further information or clarification of any point, you may wish to submit an enquiry or register a complaint, please complete the AREE Enquiry Form.

Please note that the CAA has no authority over Military aviation, as this remains the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence (MoD). If your enquiry/complaint concerns a Military aircraft, please contact the MoD Complaints and Enquiries Unit using the following details:
