Local authorities

Becta provides advice and guidance to local authorities to support and encourage schools to improve learning with ICT. We do this by providing information and tools for whole school improvement and best value procurement.

Local Authority Self-review framework

Becta has developed a Local Authority Self-review framework to support local authority teams on using technology effectively.

The framework is an important part of our commitment to support the use of technology by local authorities. It is intended to help you, together with your partners, evaluate your use of technology and to identify your strengths and areas for development.

This framework is based on Becta’s successful school self-review framework, which is used by more than half of the schools in England. The Local Authority Self-review framework has already been extensively trialled with local authorities.

This document is version 3, published October 2010.

Download

The framework is available to download:

Local Authority Self-review framework (Word 762KB)
Local Authority Self-review framework (PDF 449KB)
Local Authority Self-review framework (OpenDocument text 149KB)
