Training Quality Standard ownership transferred to the Skills Funding Agency

The Skills Funding Agency is a new agency of government set up by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to fund and regulate adult skills training in England, outside of Higher Education. The Agency’s main function is to direct funding quickly and efficiently to further education colleges and other skills providers.

The Skills Funding Agency became operational on 1 April 2010 and is the successor organisation to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), which closed its doors on 31 March 2010. As a result, from 1 April 2010 ownership of the Training Quality Standard transferred from the Learning and Skills Council to the Skills Funding Agency.
