Example scheme B

Find out how this scheme scored highly for 02. Site plan by looking at the plans and drawings presented to the schools design panel.

The panel commented on the successful site planning and landscape design of this scheme. The buildings are well arranged making a rational external circulation plan for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Ground floor plan

The design is arranged well and provides a range of external spaces which allow a variety of social and recreational uses within the tight, urban site (working with existing site constraints and opportunities).

Vehicles are kept to the south of the site ensuring discrete arrangements for deliveries, unobtrusive car parking and safe pedestrian routes around the school. The orientation of the building on the site means that learning spaces predominantly face North / South, enabling solar gains and glare to be more easily controlled. The plan also identifies areas for possible future expansion of the school (strategic site organisation).
