Cover of 360° magazine - Spring 2009:

This issue focuses on Building Schools for the Future (BSF), the secondary schools transformation programme, and the opportunities that the programme offers for young people and learning about the built environment.

BSF is changing the way school buildings look and how we use them. How young people learn is changing too. Pupil engagement is key. In our policy feature, we look at the value of pupil participation and report on how this is working in practice.

In our regular international slot, we visit Denmark, profiling Hellerup School in Copenhagen, which has been seen to lead the way in inclusive and user-friendly school design.

Our pull-out poster takes you on a photographic tour of Lambeth’s Michael Tippett school, the first special educational needs school built under BSF. We highlight some of the innovative features of the school’s design and meet the architect, Julia Barfield, learning about her career.
