Cambridge Futures

Example of scoping the project.

Defining project boundaries

Cambridge Futures was set up as a local, bottom-up response to the planning paralysis. Its aim was to look at alternative forms of growth in Cambridge and its surroundings and enable an informed debate to take place before the structure plan was developed.

Rather than work within the planning authorities’ historic boundaries, Cambridge Futures considered the area within a radius of 25 miles of the city of Cambridge. This is the area covered by the Cambridge Evening News and is the source of much of the daily commuting within the sub-region.
