Shape the future
corporate strategy 2008-09 - 2010-11
CABE's three-year corporate strategy sets out our plans and priorities over this period - and how we will measure our success.
England’s towns and cities are going through huge change. A major building programme includes 3,500 secondary schools and the London 2012 Olympics among many other important urban design and public space projects. It’s crucial that all involved in delivering this work get it right, by choosing architecture and design that works, that inspires and that is sustainable.
As the government’s advisor, CABE is there to help this work succeed. Shape the future is CABE’s three-year corporate strategy. It sets out the organisation’s plans and priorities over this period – and how we will measure our success. The strategy will be of interest to everyone who works with and for CABE.
Ricahrd Simmons, chief executive of CABE, has written an essay outlining the principles behind the corporate strategy. Good design: the fundamentals sets out why architecture and urban design are such important cultural assets and tackles some of the lame excuses often given for poor designs.
