Creating high-quality open spaces requires landscape architects, horticulturalists, project managers and confident leaders. Social landlords employ over 10 per cent of staff in the green space sector. Yet 25 per cent report significant shortages of skilled gardeners and specialist staff. CABE web guidance shows how apprenticeships can address skill shortages.

ParksMatch

ParksMatch is designed to help find solutions to a green space or parks-related problem and share stories of your successes. Administered by the Institute of Parks and Green Space, many parks managers have signed up to discuss funding and financial management, community involvement, sustainability and climate change and more besides.

CABE Space leaders programme

The need for confident leadership and management within an organisation is essential to creating a culture change in the way green spaces are used and managed on an estate. The CABE Space leaders programme gives green space managers the chance to meet the opportunities and challenges head on.
