Two new directors join the CABE team

Jonathan Davis has been appointed director of Knowledge and Skills and Sarah Gaventa has been appointed director of CABE Space.

Jonathan Davis has been appointed director of Knowledge and skills and Sarah Gaventa has been appointed director of CABE Space.

Sarah joins CABE Space from Scarlet Projects, a creative consultancy that curates architecture, design and public space exhibitions and events. Their projects include the V&A museum's annual design fete, Please be seated, a contemporary public seating project, and the refurbishment of St. Luke's Gardens in London. Sarah has recently written a book, New Public Spaces.

Sarah will oversee CABE Space's work to encourage excellence in the planning, design, management and maintenance of parks, streets and public spaces in England's towns and cities.

Jonathan was previously a director at John Thompson and Partners and joined CABE as head of regions in 2003. He has also served CABE as acting director of Learning and development and acting director of enabling.

Knowledge and skills incorporates CABE's research and regional programmes and the team which aims to increase skills in the built environment and green space sectors. Jonathan will lead CABE's development of new thinking on sustainable and inclusive design as well as established research projects, such as the recent school and housing design audits.
