CABE's sponsor department, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), will soon be advertising for two new CABE commissioners.

The new commissioners will replace Alan Barber, who has recently retired, and Paul Morrell, who is due to step down in December.

Successful candidates will have the following qualities:

  • a proven ability to think strategically and provide leadership
  • experience of working at a senior level
  • the communication skills to represent CABE to a range of audiences
  • a passion for CABE's aim of promoting high standards in the design of buildings and public spaces
  • an understanding of CABE's remit, sensitivity to the interplay between that remit and wider commercial interests and an understanding of the sector which CABE seeks to influence.

Details of the posts and how to apply will be published on the DCMS website.
