Learn how to run a green space apprenticeship scheme

25 June 2009

CABE Space are offering free workshops to urban local authorities who want to run their own apprenticeship schemes for parks and green spaces.

Skills to grow identified the growing crisis in green space skills throughout England. An ideal way to combat the skills shortage and develop your parks and green space workforce is to offer green space apprenticeships.

What do the workshops cover?

  • funding apprenticeships
  • setting up an apprenticeship scheme
  • working with training providers
  • getting diverse applicants from across the whole community.

When do they take place?

From 10.30am to 3.30pm in London on 24 July, Oldham on 28 July and Bristol on 30 July.

Who can attend?

All urban local authorities that are considering setting up an apprenticeship scheme or have received funding from Communities and Local Government for a green space apprentice in 2009/10.

Authorities that have an existing apprenticeship scheme are also welcome to attend to share best practice.

How can I book my place?

Places for the workshops are limited, so book up to two places for your authority by 14 July 2009.
