Pupils at this identified the need for a quiet, calm space within the busy school environment. Alongside this, the school would like to celebrate its cultural diversity.

The Creating a spiritual space project aims to design and cost a spiritual space in the school grounds. Pupils will visit a variety of religious buildings and urban spaces before working with an architect and quantity surveyor to design and cost the structure.

‘This project’s basis in Religious Education was interesting for its originality. We liked the fact that it replied to students’ opinions about their current school building and thought that it presented an engaging way of approaching a sensitive topic.’
