Education grant winners 2010-11
At the end of 2010, nine schools were awarded CABE education grants of between £500 and £1500 to support imaginative and collaborative teaching about architecture and the built environment.
The grants were awarded to four primary schools, one middle school, three secondary schools and one special school. All will create exemplary learning experiences which explore the design and use of buildings and public spaces, and develop partnerships between schools, community groups and local organisations.
Projects were judged on educational value, impact, best practice and longevity and will be completed by March 2011. Case studies will be available on www.engagingplaces.org.uk. The projects demonstrated relevance to one of the four following categories:
- understanding the development of where we live
- investigating green space
- learning through our school building
- our perfect space
