South Foreshore Promenade, Bridlington

Bridlington's South Foreshore Promenada has been revitalised through innovative landscaping and striking artworks that reflect the town's connection with the sea. Designed by Bauman Lyons Architects with Bruce McLean.

After the success of the North Promenade's regeneration using a public art approach, a strategy was created for architects and artists to work together, with other professionals to create a renaissance for the South Promenade.

Three individual promenades and more than a mile of seafront have been remodelled with new buildings, surfaces, furniture and landscaping, and connected together by art works and themes specially chosen to reflect Bridlington's essential history, character and relationship with the sea.

The result is an imaginative stretch of waterfront, which never fails to hold the visitor's interest, and which is by turn exciting, instructive, humorous and good fun, at any time of the year.
