Everest Community College

Everest Community College

Everest Community College’s landscape scheme was created to encourage the integration of the school campus with the public realm, minimising any perceived barriers to encourage wider community use.

The college, located on a previously rural site in Basingstoke, Hampshire, is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school for 750 students which opened in September 2007.

Hampshire County Council has a long history of innovative school grounds design, with the county’s landscape architects actively involved in the design of Everest from an early stage to ensure the grounds were developed as a learning, as well as social, resource.
