Transforming our streets

In 2002, CABE produced Paving the way, a definitive statement of the problems we face with the design, regulation, management and maintenance of our streets. The report was produced with the then Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions and it set out clear recommendations for change. However, much remains to be done. This briefing sets out the progress made in the interim and the vital next steps we still need to take to create a genuine transformation of our streets.
