Mapping value in the built environment

CABE commissioned the Young Foundation to carry out a review of value assessment methodologies, ranging from property valuation techniques to multi-criteria analysis.

The research looked at the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches, and how they could be used to assess the many types of value created by good design. This work has directly informed the commissioning of Are the streets paved with gold?, ongoing research into the value of street and civic space design being conducted by Colin Buchanan and Partners.
