Visas

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office DOES NOT handle visa operations.

Please contact the UK Border Agency for the following:

  • Student visa applications
  • Visa appeals
  • Indefinite leave to remain
  • Residency in the UK
  • Settling in the UK
  • Visas for visiting the UK
  • Visas for partners and families

Any enquiries we receive relating to visas will not be processed by the FCO.

If you are going to use British documents overseas, for business or personal reasons, you’ll probably be asked to have your documents legalised before they can be accepted. Legalisation is the official confirmation that a signature, seal or stamp on a document is genuine.
