New Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow, designed by Reiach and Hall Architects, won the 2010 Prime Minister’s Better Public Building Award.
The hospital is the first dedicated ambulatory care and diagnostic facility in Scotland and is delivering health care in a whole new way.
The judges said: ‘New Stobhill Hospital displays an incredibly high level of design built to a very high standard. A strong and knowledgeable client knew what she wanted and how to drive change in the way the hospital did things, and communicated clearly with the architect and contractor throughout.’
CABE chief executive Richard Simmons added: ‘New Stobhill Hospital shows the enormous value of investing in high-quality design.’
