2010 awards – what happens next

20 July 2010

Rostron Brow, Stockport

More than 80 submissions have been received for this year’s Building for Life awards.

New housing developments from around the country – from South Shields to Bristol – are being now being assessed against the 20 Building for Life criteria to see whether they qualify for a silver or gold Building for Life standard.

Schemes receiving a standard will be announced in September. They then go forward to be considered by the independent judging panel headed by Building for Life chair Wayne Hemingway. The winners will be announced on 3 November.

This year, for the first time, schemes in the running for an award include those already assessed by local authority accredited Building for Life assessors which have achieved a silver or gold standard.
