How to apply from Belarus

We do not issue passports in Belarus. We now need to send your completed application and documents to our Regional Passport Processing Centre in Düsseldorf, Germany.

How to apply from Belarus

You should submit your passport application form with all supporting documents in person at the British Embassy in Minsk, Visa Section within our working hours for applications: Mon – Thu: 09:00—12:30. We will send your documents to our Regional Passport Processing Centre in Düsseldorf.

How much

Passport fees in Belarus are:  

Adult passport

  • 32-page passport - USD 205 
  • 48-page passport - USD 247
  • Child passport (32 pages) - USD 130

How to pay

You should pay in cash and US Dollars only.

Timing

If you are renewing your passport you should allow 4 weeks for us to return your new passport to you.  If it is your first British passport application then you should allow at least 6 weeks. If replacing a lost or stolen passport you should also allow at least 6 weeks. Please do not call to check on the progress of your application before this time. 

Delivery back to you

We will contact you directly as soon as we receive your passport from Regional Passport Processing Centre in Düsseldorf. You are welcome to collect your passport from the British Embassy in Minsk, Visa Section within our working hours: Mon—Thu: 09:00—13:00/14:00—17:30; Fri: 09:00—15:00.

Specific requirements from Belarus

NATIONALITY ENQUIRIES: Please note that we are unable to provide advice on enquiries related to nationality. Please see the section on Am I Eligible for a UK Passport (Link on left hand side) for further information.

Translations:

All foreign legal documents submitted with a passport application (such as birth/death/marriage certificates, divorce papers, change of name documents, affidavits, etc) should be translated into English.  You can find a list of officially recognised translators here [PDF, 4.8KB]. You cannot get a friend or relative to do this for you.

Urgent Travel:

If you need to travel urgently and your normal passport is not available you should contact the British Embassy in Minsk, Tel: +37517 2105920. They may be able to provide you with emergency travel documentation.  Please note they will not be able to answer general passport questions or give information on passport applications in progress (as they are no longer involved in this process).  You should only contact them if you have a need to travel urgently and you will be asked to supply evidence of your need.
