Embassy hours of opening and contact details can be found on this website.

Her Majesty’s Consul at Cairo and the British Consul-General at Alexandria and their teams are here to look after the interests of British nationals (and some unrepresented Commonwealth nationals) visiting or living within their Consular Districts. The British Embassy’s area of responsibility consists of all Egypt except for Alexandria, the area around it and along the West Coast to the border, which is covered by the British Consulate-General in Alexandria.

These pages will give you information about registering a birth or death, procedures required for getting married here in Egypt, registering your presence with the Embassy if you are a resident or visitor, and our notarial services. We also explain what we can do for you, as well as some things that we cannot do. We include some contacts who may be able to help with problems where we cannot.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office holds and uses data for the purposes notified to the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998 (which may be consulted at Information Commissioner). Such personal data may be disclosed to other UK Government Departments and public authorities.
