Arab peace initiative

Posted 23 October 2008 by David Miliband  |  3 comments

For some time we have spoken about the importance of the Arab League/Saudi sponsored Arab peace initiative, most recently at the UN in New York in September. In that context the speech by President Peres at the UN  and statement by Israeli Labour Party Leader and Defence Minister Barak  are significant. They fully merit the recent comments by Prince Saud.  We will continue to argue for comprehensive agreement on outstanding issues in the Middle East, including next Monday when Syrian Foreign Minister Moallem takes up my invitation to visit London.
