Nicholas Kay

British Ambassador to Sudan, Khartoum

Nicholas Kay, husband to Sue, father of two daughters and a son, custodian of two tortoises, has been in Khartoum since May 2010. Since his arrival, Nicholas has been impressed by the warmth of the Sudanese people and the Sudanese sun - it doesn't feel like it's 93 million miles away here. Fortunately he's used to the heat having worked in Afghanistan, DR Congo, Spain and Cuba since joining the FCO in 1994. In his spare moments, Nicholas enjoys playing squash, sailing and swimming.
