| Details: | Oil & Gas UK is hosting a series of training workshops that aim to help companies conclude deals quickly and efficiently, reduce costs and maintain competitiveness in the economic downturn. The workshops, which will be held on 22, 25 and 29 June at Oil & Gas UK's Aberdeen offices, will focus on model agreements that were unveiled in February this year and provide guidance on how they can be applied to maximum benefit.
The agreements that will be presented and discussed are the Confidentiality Agreement (CA), Joint Operating Agreement (JOA), Pipeline Crossing Agreement (PCA) and the new Proximity Agreement (PA). Each workshop will be led by experienced industry professionals who have been involved with the development and creation of the new standard agreements.
Paul Dymond, Oil & Gas UK's operations and supply chain director, explained: "Standardisation of agreements is an important part of the industry's objective to simplify operational and transactional procedures as it allows valuable legal resources to be focused on value-adding activities. Use of these agreements ensures more efficient working practices which can help to combat the effects on activity of low credit availability and costs remaining high. In particular, companies can simplify procedures and reduce costs in several areas of oil and gas operations, including asset transfer, gaining access to infrastructure and in building new pipelines.
"Since these documents are relatively new there is quite a high level of demand for training workshops. The dates scheduled for the end of June will enable attendees to familiarise themselves with the standard agreements, understand the benefits of implementing these documents, whilst being given the opportunity to interact with key industry professionals who have been involved in the construction of the new standard agreements." |
