Businesses found 2009 a turbulent, tough year and the UK offshore oil and gas industry was no more immune to these pressures than the rest of the economy. There was growing concern that oil and gas price volatility and the freezing of financial markets would impair investment and suppress exploration and production in the North Sea, with wider implications for companies and employment across the supply chain. Such concerns relate directly to PILOT Share Fair and the rationale behind the event.
PILOT Share Fair continues to be a huge success, attracting a record 750 attendees in 2009. Such is the growth of the event over the last few years that the decision has been made to relocate the Share Fair into the arena at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. This move will allow the event to continue to develop whilst ensuring that the core elements of Share Fair are improved for all involved, bringing all aspects of the event into the same area, albeit split into different zones.
The event's primary objectives are to provide:

An opportunity for networking, for example meeting prospective new clients and updating existing contacts
An information sharing forum
An opportunity to hear about the industry's latest supply chain initiatives
One to one sessions
Support for the industry's supply chain code of practice
