DECOM NORTH SEA - DRIVING THE SUPPLY CHAIN
The decommissioning phase of North Sea oil and gas is likely to differ quite significantly from anything that has gone before. New commerical drivers, fresh technological challenges and a highly responsive supply chain will be required if we are to prevent the costs of this operation rising to unacceptable levels.
Decom North Sea is a newly established UK-based industry forum set up in 2009 to maximise the business opportunities presented by North Sea decommissioning. The main objective of the forum is to deliver practical industry support to improve knowledge transfer and stimulate collaborative activities across the North Sea supply chain. 30-DAY PAYMENT OF INVOICES
One of the key principles contained within the Supply Chain Code of Practice is a commitment to pay all valid invoices within 30 days. MODEL INVITATIONS TO TENDER NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE
The Model ITTs are five templates helping to simplify the contracting process between purchasers and suppliers, which offer major cost and time savings for both parties by eliminating duplication of effort and information.
The five guideline documents cover the following areas; marine construction, topside support, well services, drilling, general services and provide a standard layout for suppliers to follow when structuring their response to a purchaser's request for services/and or equipment.
To access the Model ITTs free of charge please click here, which will take you to the FPAL website.
PILOT FORWARD WORKPLAN DATABASE (A LIVE, ONLINE SHARE FAIR)
DECC and FPAL have jointly developed a new Forward Workplan Database. This information sharing database evolved from a work group on the Supply Chain Managers Network (now the Supply Chain Forum). It is accessed on the non member pages of the FPAL website and shows real time market intelligence and project development. We anticipate it being expanded to incorporate all the major players in the industry.
It will extend and complement the concept of the PILOT share fairs and allows the Supply Chain to add more value. It provides a platform for operators and major contractors to post and update project information regularly and gives suppliers the information on forward planned activity that they need. A leaflet has now been issued for quick reference click here to view.
