The Billy Wright Inquiry - venue for main oral hearings

The Billy Wright Inquiry has reached agreement with the Northern Ireland Court Service to lease Banbridge Court House to use as its venue for oral hearings. The Inquiry is currently working in full cooperation with the Northern Ireland Court Service to finalise the details of the lease.

The Inquiry will undertake some work to adapt the building for its new use.

The Chairman of the Inquiry, Lord MacLean, has already announced that it is the Inquiry's intention to commence its main oral hearings, at the earliest, in Spring 2007. The Inquiry will issue a further Press Notice when a date is agreed for the commencement of oral hearings.

Any questions resulting from this press notice should be addressed to the Secretary to the Inquiry.
