HMS Iron Duke and her Ship’s Company have now returned to her base port of Portsmouth after completing 6 weeks of intensive training under the watchful eye of Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST).
HMS Iron Duke completed her time alongside in maintenance in mid-March. The last week of a maintenance period is always a very busy one, as the Ship’s Company and numerous shore based maintenance personnel, both civilian and uniformed, push to get the Ship ready for sea again.
HMS Iron Duke remained on post-deployment leave until mid January 2010, although duty personnel remained on board and this time was used to start conducting preparatory maintenance work and defect rectification.
