Class 1 Who we are and what we do
The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement supports the NHS to transform healthcare for patients and the public by rapidly developing and spreading new ways of working, new technology and world class leadership.

How we fit into the NHS structure
The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement is a special health authority and was established by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement (Establishment and Constitution) Order 2005 in July 2005.

The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement is an arm’s length body of the Department of Health.  Further information about arm’s length bodies is available on the Department of Health website.
