The Council of Europe magazine publication Naturopa, published since 1968, is intended to raise awareness among European citizens and decision makers of the importance of sustainable development in Europe by focusing on its unique heritage.

From 1968 to 2000 Naturopa aimed to promote nature conservation and sustainable management of natural resources, and to develop a multidisciplinary approach to environmental questions.

In 2001, Naturopa broadened its scope to include cultural and landscape heritage and regional planning from the perspective of sustainable spatial development. Naturopa is published in the two official languages of the Council of Europe, English and French.

The last issue, no 103, was published in 2005. It will be followed by a new journal, Futuropa. Issues of Naturopa since issue 93 (2000) can be download in PDF format from the index webpage on the Council of Europe.
