How we collect information about you

You do not need to register to access the majority of the information on this site, however to receive access to advanced features such as the E-librarian service and suggested resources users are able to register on the site. If you register with the site we will collect personal information about you, which will include your name, e-mail address, ITT institution, role and key stage as mandatory information. Once you have registered you may provide us with additional details (local authority, location and subject interest) in your profile. This is so that we can contact you in a way that is convenient and tailored to your needs if you want us to. If you use the E-librarian service by asking a question then you give permission for the E-librarian to contact you using the email address that you provide. This contact will be to clarify your question, to send you a personal response and to gather feedback about the E-librarian service.

How we use personal information about you

We use information collected about your role and subject interest to personalise your visits to the TTRB.

When registering you are able to select if you wish to subscribe to our newsletters or be contacted in the future with additional information. Newsletters will be emailed out to users who select this option, usually on a termly basis. Users who allow us to contact them in the future with additional information may receive selective information about forthcoming conferences, events or updates which relate to the TTRB.

We may also use your personal data to monitor the use of our website, to record traffic flows and to carry out research about our visitors’ and customers’ demographics, interests and behaviour. We do this to understand our visitors, customers and potential customers better.

Research

We may on occasion contact you to take part in research to evaluate the service, if you agree to let us contact you with additional information when you register, or on your profile.

How we look after your information

We follow strict guidelines in the storage and disclosure of personal information and communications that you have given us to prevent unauthorised access to it. The database storing personal data is located behind an ISP firewall, with the database password protected. Data is accessible via a web-based Content Management System to a limited number of users and access is password protected. Personal data will not be passed onto any third party suppliers and we will only contact you if you have agreed to this during the registration process; you are free to change your profile preferences at any time.

When do we give your information to other people?

We do not disclose any persona data you have given us to any other people or sites, with the following exceptions: We reserve the right to access and disclose individually identifiable information to comply with applicable laws and government requests.

Cookies are small files of information which we store on your computer. Our system may issue cookies to your computer when you log on to the site. Cookies make it easier for you to log on to and use the site during future visits. They also allow us to monitor site traffic and to personalise the content of the site for you.
