2007: Professional knowledge and understanding (Q10-21)

Using the left hand browse menu you can access a wide range of resources that have been tagged to the individual QTS standards.  Below are some key resources which should be helpful in giving an introduction to Professional knowledge and understanding.

These standards require NQTs to be confident in the subjects they teach and to have a clear understanding of how all children and young people make progress. Additionally, they require an understanding of how teachers contribute to the well-being of children and young people and of the variety of influences affecting child development.  For further information relating to the QTS standards and ITT requirements visit the TDA website at www.tda.gov.uk/qts.
