The TTRB was developed specifically to bring together research and resources to support teachers and trainees. All of the resources below, which will help you to keep up to date with subject knowledge in mathematics, English and science, have at some time or another been reviewed on the TTRB.
For example, have you seen the R&DA resources on the website? See links below.
I would also suggest that subject specific associations and organisations such as ATM, ASE, Sci-tutors, ITE English, National Literacy Trust would be good places to look at. We often refer to these websites in our responses relating to maths, English and science.
Teachers TV is also an excellent resource to view current practice, debate and research for all subjects. Some of these sites allow you to register for email updates, which is a good way of reminding yourself to keep up to date.
I hope this helps.
p.s. Yours is the last E-librarian question that we are responding to as, sadly, the service is no longer in operation. Thank you very much for contacting us and good luck in your teaching career!

ENGAGING TEACHERS, ENGAGING PUPILS, ENGAGING SCIENCE: are we learning our lessons? "In order to do this and to teach effectively we need to be comfortable with what we are teaching. This raises the question of subject knowledge required by teachers. Whilst we must remember that effective teaching requires more than just knowledge of the subject content, we are more likely to be comfortable if we have a sound understanding of our subject matter."
