The qualified teacher status standards (QTS) require trainees recommended for the award of QTS to pass skills tests in numeracy, literacy and information and communications technology (ICT).

QTS standards guidance
The purpose of this guidance is to help providers as they exercise their professional judgement and to help them maximise the opportunities for the development of their programmes that the QTS standards offer.

ITT requirements guidance
The aim of this guidance is to clarify the requirements and to develop a common understanding among all providers and partners, particularly those new to initial teacher training (ITT). It is designed to help everyone involved in ITT understand the rationale and scope of the requirements.
