Travellers and Roma

This topic is concerned with raising the educational achievement of pupils from Traveller and Roma communities. It aims to enhance awareness of the needs of Traveller and Roma pupils amongst teacher educators and student teachers. This topic addresses inequalities and provides strategies for increasing the pupils’ educational opportunities. Below is a selection of key resources in this area. # June 2010 marks the third Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month. This annual event aims to celebrate the rich heritage, history and culture of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

Prejudice and Pride is a valuable resource pack comprising a DVD and a research report . The 28 page report presents the findings of a study commissioned by the Cambridgeshire Traveller Implementation Group and published by the Ormiston Children and Families Trust.
