# June 2010 marks the third Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month. This annual event aims to celebrate the rich heritage, history and culture of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
This eight minute video extract features an interview with the Kwiek family - a Polish Roma family that has lived in the UK for nine years. It is taken from the DVD entitled 'Travellers and Gypsies: Groups and Issues' produced by the Catholic Children's Society (2005).
This interview explores reasons for adopting an alternative lifestyle, explains the practicalities and outlines the perceived advantages of a nomadic way of life. This resource could be used to raise awareness and challenge prejudices about New Travellers.
Report providing information and guidance on the needs of Muslim pupils. Useful reference point for schools, governors and teachers.
