This session plan is designed for ITE teacher educators to deliver to trainee teachers of Key stage 2. It’s aim is to equip trainee teachers with some of the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to use artefacts from different ethnic groups within the subject of Art & Design.

The session is designed to raise awareness of the effects of ethnicity and diversity on arts and craft practices in Britain, as well as equipping student teachers and trainees with practical ideas for using artefacts effectively in their teaching. Artefacts can be used to challenge stereotypes and to show the fusion of cultures within modern multicultural Britain.
