At 5:30am today, Stornoway Coastguard received a Mayday call from the Irish registered fishing vessel AINMIRE, 30 miles West Northwest of the Butt of Lewis. The crew reported that the vessel was taking on water and they require immediate assistance. read more..

Kayaker Recovered Off Traeth Mawr

At 12.00 noon yesterday Holyhead Coastguard received a 999 call from an Aberffraw resident reporting that a woman had come to her house and asked that the Coastguard be alerted to a person in difficulty off Traeth Mawr. The persons craft had capsized but no further information was forthcoming.  read more..

Diver Dies After Surfacing Unconscious in Lyme Bay

In good weather around midday today, crew aboard the dive vessel Blue Turtle alerted Portland Coastguard to a diver who had been recovered unconscious into the vessel. The crew of the vessel began calling pan pan (a radio urgency call) into the area immediately requesting assistance. read more..

Search Stood Down for Missing Diver

At 11.55 this morning, the dive vessel Outcast informed Brixham Coastguard they had a missing 45 year old diver. He failed to surface following a shot line dive on the wreck of the Maine. He had last been seen below the surface on the shot line and was wearing a blue dry suit with a black hood plus yellow fins. He is an experienced diver and was diving with buddies on the well known wreck site. read more..

At just after 11.20 this morning, the dive vessel Outcast informed Brixham Coastguard that they were missing a 55 year old diver who had not resurfaced from a shot line dive. They made the initial call to the Coastguard after the diver had been missing a matter of minutes.  read more..

Fishing Vessel Goes Aground Twice in One Day

Thames Coastguard requested the Burnham RNLI Inshore Lifeboat to launch to the 13.2 metre fishing vessel Rebbecan, PW406, at 5.00 am today. The vessel was aground in the River Crouch. The fishing vessel, under new ownership, was on passage from Paglesham to Sunderland. Once on scene the lifeboat assessed the vessel to ensure all was well onboard and offered safety advice before returning to station. The vessel refloated and was escorted by the Harbour Launch to the entrance of the River Crouch. read more..
