SITPRO Simplifying International Trade

Policy Development Europe

Many of the proposals affecting cross-border procedures emanate from the European Commission, particularly its vision for a paperless customs environement across the EU, which it is promoting through the Modernised Customs Code and Multi-Annual Strategic Plan (MASP). Through its Strategic Advisory Group on Europe (SAGE) and its Ports and Borders Group (PBG), SITPRO analyses the specific proposals coming out of Brussels from a policy and practical perspective, ensuring that business interests and perspectives are explored.

At present a work on the Modernised Customs Code Implementing Provisions is taking place. Full details of the issues under consideration can be found in the Modernised Customs Code section of this website.

SITPRO also provides the secretariat for EUROPRO, the umbrella body for trade procedures organisations, through which it has close links with several European national trade facilitation bodies and others. SITPRO maintains strong links with the European Commission and represents EUROPRO on DG Taxud's Trade Contact Group.
