A facility enabling the provision of standardised information with a single body to fulfil all import, export and transit related regulatory requirements. If information is electronic then individual data elements should only be submitted once.
On October 30th, SITPRO joined forces with the WCO to hold a Single Window Workshop at the WCO headquarters in Brussels. The aim of the event was to raise the profile of Single Window and bring together representatives from other international organisations to share progress. One of the outcomes was the agreement on a uniform definition, given above. There were over 35 delegates, including representatives from the UNECE and the WCO Data Model Working Group.
