Complaints

Neither the Council nor its Scottish Committee are complaints bodies, and we do not involve ourselves with particular cases which a tribunal or inquiry is hearing or has heard.

If you wish to complain about how an individual case has been handled, you may want to approach a solicitor, legal advice centre or citizens advice bureau for advice. In some circumstances this advice can be obtained either at a reduced fee or at no charge.

The Parliamentary Ombudsman is able to look into allegations of maladministration by the administrative staff of certain tribunals. This is a free service.

Complaints about maladministration that has occurred in an appeal concerning school admission or exclusion should be directed to the Local Government Ombudsman for your area.
