You need to read Animal Farm, to paraphrase - Everyone has the right to freedom of speech, only some people have that right more than others.

Orwell put it better - All animals are equal, only some animals are more equal than others.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you currently in prison for anything that you've said? Have you physically been prevented from actually saying anything? Are the moderators on the way round, right now, to to kick your head in and take you to prison?

You do have freedom of speech you always had freedom of speech. It just so happens I agree with your original point. But will you please? Please, please, please? Please, please, pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on top? Please stop whining?

Johnny what are you on about? You really are lacking in brain capacity. Just look at your history on this site for proof

Oh dear, I think I've upset you. I should warn you, never enter a battle of wits unarmed.

Is that your arsenal of superior knowledge and relentless logic? What a joke

Freedom of speech is not absolute. I don't have the right to go into your house uninvited and shout expletives at you. When you signed up to this website, you agreed to follow the rules. Without moderation, the site would become cluttered with repeat ideas and things that simply don't belong here. If you have a problem with the rules, feel free to spout of whatever nonsense you like in Speakers' Corner or some other public setting instead.

This site is freedom - trouble is that it is a freedom that is controlled in a way that Stalin would have been proud of.

I rest my point.

Yes, I have found many threads which say they are no longer taking comments, what is the bloomin point of this site if we can't all have a say? I suppose it is better than tapping the phone or logging our emails, the government are getting our information willingly now. wink wink

Too true - as long as we are not encoraging something vile like murder or paedophilia, then all of the statements/comments should be 'left alive'.

Trouble is that the oiks running this site seem to think that an anti-EU comment is worse than those things thats are unspeakable.

If you had any sense this site is the one about repealing laws, not just for you to have a rant.
Pay attention
