Revised non-statutory end of key stage statements for PSHE education at key stage 3 now available

QCA has revised and updated the non-statutory end of key stage statements for PSHE education at key stage 3 to reflect the new programmes of study.  Non-statutory statements for key stage 4 are currently undergoing revision and will be available soon.

Sir Alasdair MacDonald has been asked by the DCSF to conduct an independent review into making PSHE education statutory, which will include recommendations on assessment. This review is due to be published at the end of April 2009, and following the Government response and public consultation on the recommendations, QCA will work with the DCSF to explore assessment in preparation for making PSHE education statutory.

In the mean time, practitioners should use these non-statutory statements.
