Workforce contribution to service transformation

Record of the June 2007 joint workshop run by ISIP and National Workforce Projects on Workforce Planning for Integrated Service Improvement.

Workforce planning and workforce development are central to the strategic planning and design of health and care delivery systems. On the 28th June 2007 ISIP and National Workforce Projects ran an interactive workshop on Workforce Planning for Integrated Service Improvement.

The workshop sessions and marketplace gave an opportunity to learn about a range of workforce tools and techniques, and highlighted the roles of both the commissioner and provider in workforce design and planning.

    ISIP is contributing to a programme of support from key partners in the NHS to assist 18 weeks workforce planning in trusts and SHAs. This programme will support health communities to meet the 18 weeks challenge by providing a variety of tools, techniques and resources.
