About us

Commissioning

Commissioning is at the centre of NOMS delivery.

Effective commissioning will ensure that the most appropriate services are available to meet offender needs, at the right price and at the right time. The NOMS commissioning system is continually developing. Between now and 2010 we expect to deliver a significant step change in the way we commission services from the public, private and third sectors.

NOMS cannot deliver reducing re-offending and public protection objectives on its own. Our ability to jointly commission services and work in partnership with other organisations will be critical to our future success. These pages contain the information that practitioners and partners will need to support delivery of the commissioning system in 2008-09 and beyond, including the National Commissioning and Partnerships Framework 2008/09 (new window).
